Polychem Middle East is a leading composite materials supplier in the UAE, offering a comprehensive range of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) products including polyester resins, epoxy laminating systems, chopped strand mat (Poly Mat), woven roving, carbon fibre and aramid fabrics, release agents, MEKP catalysts, pigment pastes, fumed silica, thermal insulation, and industrial cleaners. Whether you are building boat hulls, water tanks, architectural panels, or automotive parts, we have the right materials for your application.
Polyester resin is the most widely used resin in GRP fabrication — it is cost-effective, easy to use, and well-suited for general-purpose laminates, water tanks, and marine hulls. It requires a MEKP catalyst (such as our Mepoxe) to cure. Epoxy resin, such as our Epomatrix laminating system, offers superior mechanical strength, lower shrinkage, and excellent adhesion to substrates including carbon fibre and Kevlar. Epoxy is preferred for high-performance structural applications, tooling, and vacuum infusion. Our technical team can help you select the right resin system based on your project requirements and budget.
Our Polycolors pigment pastels are formulated to be compatible with polyester, epoxy, PU, polyurea, and polyurethane resin systems. For polyester gelcoats and resins, use our standard pigment pastes at a loading of 2–5% by weight. For epoxy systems, use epoxy-compatible grades. For outdoor applications, we recommend UV-stable grades for long-lasting colour retention. We offer a full RAL and BS colour-matching service, and our technical team can advise on the correct paste type and dosage to achieve consistent, vibrant results without affecting cure time or mechanical properties.
MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) is an organic peroxide catalyst used to initiate the curing reaction in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. Our Mepoxe is a high-purity MEKP formulation designed for reliable, consistent gel times in GRP fabrication. Typical usage levels are 1–2% by weight of resin, adjusted based on ambient temperature and desired working time. In cooler climates or air-conditioned workshops, a cobalt accelerator (promoter) is used alongside MEKP to achieve a complete cure. Our team provides full technical guidance on correct catalyst ratios to avoid under-cure or exothermic cracking.
Through our Poly Foam brand, we supply high-performance PU (Polyurethane) and PIR (Polyisocyanurate) rigid foam insulation boards, slabs, and pipe sections. These materials meet international fire-rating standards and are widely used across the UAE in HVAC ductwork insulation, cold storage facilities, refrigerated transport, industrial pipelines, and roof and wall insulation. PIR foam offers a higher fire resistance rating (Class A2 / B1) and better thermal conductivity values compared to standard PU foam, making it ideal for energy-efficient building envelopes in the Middle East's demanding climate.
Yes. Polychem Middle East stocks a complete range of vacuum infusion and vacuum bagging consumables including infusion mesh, peel ply, spiral tubes, vacuum bags, sealant tape, and connectors — available under our Vacuum Infusion brand. We also supply premium carbon fibre and aramid (Kevlar) fabrics in various weave styles (plain, twill 2×2) and weights from 200 to 600 GSM. These are used extensively in automotive body parts, marine racing craft, aerospace components, and sporting goods. Our Epomatrix epoxy system is the recommended resin for vacuum infusion processes.
Fumed silica (also known as aerosil or pyrogenic silica) is a highly effective thixotropic and rheology-control additive. When added to polyester or epoxy resins at 0.5–3% by weight, it prevents sagging and drainage on vertical surfaces, making it essential for laminating on complex shapes and moulds. Our Poly Silica fumed silica also improves scratch resistance in gelcoats, increases bond strength in adhesive formulations, and reduces resin drainage in hand layup and spray-up applications. It is an indispensable additive for any professional GRP fabrication workshop.
We supply Poly Wax 777, a heavy-duty paste wax mold release compound specifically formulated for GRP, fibreglass, and composite tooling. It creates a durable barrier film between the gelcoat and the mold surface, allowing clean, damage-free part release and extending mold life. For new or unsealed molds, we recommend applying 4–6 coats with a full cure between each application. For semi-permanent release systems suitable for high-volume production, our technical team can recommend the appropriate product from our release agent range. Proper mold preparation is essential for achieving a high-gloss, defect-free surface finish on your parts.
Our Polycleen range is purpose-built for composite manufacturing environments. It includes Poly Cleen, a multi-purpose resin cleaner that effectively removes uncured polyester and epoxy from tools, rollers, and spray equipment; Polycleen Towel, heavy-duty industrial wet wipes pre-loaded with cleaning solvent for quick hand and tool clean-up without water; and Polycleen Hand Sanitising Gel, an industrial-grade antibacterial gel for use where water washing is not practical. All Polycleen products are formulated to be effective against resins and gelcoats while meeting UAE health and safety standards for industrial use.
